M16 a jingle bus
The M16 bus is usually pretty quiet around 6:30 p.m. on weeknights -- tired workers close their eyes, listen to their iPods or read on their way home.
But on Monday, riders got a loud dose of holiday cheer — whether they liked it or not. After picking up passengers at 34th Street and Fifth Avenue, the jolly bus driver took to the loudspeaker to ask everyone to join him in singing "Jingle Bells."
At first, confused riders mumbled the words or stared out the windows with their mouths shut.
But when the driver got the chorus, and screamed "Everybody now!" people couldn't help but get into the Christmas spirit. Well, except for two young women, who countered the holiday tune with their own rendition of "The Dreidel Song."
