Man allegedly sets fire to ex-girlfriend at Queens complex
An angry 25-year-old man set a fiery death trap for his ex-girlfriend and her two young children Sunday, setting her ablaze as she opened her Queens apartment door as well as the hallway outside, according to reports.
Kehman Clark allegedly rapped on the door of her apartment at the Queensbridge Houses just before 11 a.m. Sunday, and, when she opened, doused her with gasoline and lit her with a match, according to reports. The woman, who was not identified, suffered non-life-threatening injuries, as did her attacker, authorities said. Firefighters rescued her two young children, who were trapped in the apartment. The children, ages 1 and 3, were treated at Elmhurst Hospital for smoke inhalation, police said. The mother, 22, was taken to Weill Cornell Medical Center with burns to her torso. Clark suffered the worst injuries, with second-degree burns on his arms and legs, according to fire officials. Police expected to arrest and charge Clark after he was treated at Harlem Hospital Center, a spokesman said.
