Man stabbed, sent to hospital in iPhone theft
A man was stabbed in the chest at an F train station by a thief who stole his iPhone yesterday, police said.
The unidentified victim was leaving the 18th Avenue stop in Borough Park around 2 a.m. when the suspect nipped the iPhone and stabbed him. The man was taken to Lutheran hospital and is in stable condition, according to published reports.
The police said they don't have a suspect and the investigation in ongoing.
The NYPD lastmonth released data that showed Apple-related thefts are up 40% this year compared to the same time in 2011, accounting for a 4% uptick overall in crime.
