Matt Lauer, now the highest-paid anchor in history, made the cover of The Hollywood Reporter for its list of the most powerful people in media, a roster of 35 key players that also includes Diane Sawyer, Bob Costas and Jon Stewart.
Now in its second year, the list highlights “the anchors, executives, late-night impresarios and media moguls who drive the news cycle ... and keep us connected to our world,” THR writes.
Lauer just signed a $25 million deal to stay with NBC’s “Today” — enough to earn him the coveted cover spot for the special issue, which focuses exclusively on New York media types.
The list is unranked and, with the exception of media mogul Arianna Huffington, includes only TV personalities.
