Mayor on 'Linsanity': Give credit to all the Knicks
Mayor Michael Bloomberg doesn't sound so "Linterested" in jumping on the latest bandwagon.
Hizzoner on Thursday initially dodged a question about the skyrocketing popularity of Knicks point guard Jeremy Lin, whose spirited performances have helped the team win seven straight games.
"You know, your heart went out to the Knicks. I like the coach [Mike D'Antoni] very much. I think he's a great guy," Bloomberg told reporters at an unrelated news conference.
The mayor had to be pressed further to get his opinion on Lin, saying "it's great that he's one of the members of the team and he's the star of the moment."
But it takes more than one man to play a good game, he added: "There's a whole team of players and they all have to participate for the team to win."
