Miami face-chewing victim was Stuyvesant HS grad: report
The Miami man whose was face chewed off by a man on a likely drug rampage was a graduate of the elite Stuyvesant High School, according to published reports.
Ronald Poppo, 65, graduated from the school in 1964 and was a member of the Latin Club and worked in the guidance office of the high school, the Daily News reported yesterday. The school didn't respond to requests for comment.
Poppo, a drifter who has lived in Miami for the past 40 years, was brutally mauled last weekend by Rudy Eugene, 31, another homeless man living in the area, according to police.
More than 80 percent of Poppo's face was chewed off and he is still in critical condition in a Miami hospital, but expected to survive. Eugene was shot to death by police.
