Michael Phelps rings NYSE bell

Getty ImagesWall Street was focused on a different kind of gold standard this morning -- the Michael Phelps kind.
The Olympic swimmer who won eight gold medals at the Beijing Olympic Games was in downtown Manhattan today with teammate Natalie Coughlin to ring the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange.
Coughlin also won multiple medals, coming home from China with one gold, two silver and three bronze.
