'The Secret World of Arrietty'
The most recent import from the famed Japanese animation house, Studio Ghibli ("Spirited Away," "Ponyo"), mines some familiar territory: It's based on "The Borrowers," which was a book series by Mary Norton, first published in 1955, about a miniature family living under the floors, "borrowing" stuff from the humans living above. The property also was adapted as a made-for-TV movie in 1972, a British TV series in 1992, a 1997 movie starring John Goodman and Jim Broadbent, and a British TV movie last year.
