Nintendo hopes to give gamers a "Wii" bit more fun this holiday season.

During the second day of the E3 conference Tuesday, the Japanese game maker showed off new details and games for its Wii U system, which is set to hit store shelves in November.

The console will be played with a special controller that has a built-in touch screen tablet. Nintendo officials described how the iPad-like device would work with new games and features.

    Super Mario Bros.
The Wii U will launch with the latest installment of the classic game. Up to four players can play using standard controllers. The tablet will show maps, hints and other features.

    Pikmin 3
Nintendo's cult-favorite strategy game is going to get real -- literally. With the tablet's camera, gamers can play the game with real-life locations as the background.

    BatmaN
The hit game "Batman: Arkham City" will load up with new features, including the ability to use the Dark Knight's gadgets with the tablet-only menu.

    Online
A special interactive social network will be available for Wii U users. Not only will players be able to access special online games, such as a new "Legend of Zelda" title, but they can also discuss game strategies in real time using a message board feature.
