  • NYC schools ranked low in Forbes college list

    Columbia University

    Forbes released its list of top colleges Wednesday and Columbia University is the only city institution to make it to the top 50.

    The magazine ranked the schools using a number of factors including post graduate success, student satisfaction, debt, four-year graduation rate and competitive awards won by students.

    Princeton University topped the list followed by Williams College, Stanford University, the University of Chicago and Yale University.

    Here's where the New York City schools ranked:

    -Columbia University: 8

    -Barnard College: 58

    -NYU: 97

    -Cooper Union: 130

    -St John's University: 151

    -Fordham University: 203
