NYPD investigating alleged sexual assault of West Village woman
Police are searching for a man who allegedly sexually assaulted a 28-year-old woman inside her West Village apartment early Wednesday morning.
The unidentified man allegedly followed the woman home and forced his way inside her apartment at around 3 a.m. Wednesday, where he raped her before fleeing, according to the NYPD. She then went to a neighbor's house to call police, NBCNewYork.com reported.
Police didn't yet have a description of the suspect, and declined to confirm a NY1 report that the alleged assault took place on Cornelia Street.
