NYPD needs to do a better job investigating car crashes: Pols
Local pols want the NYPD to do a better job investigating car crashes.
City Council members introduced resolutions and legislation Wednesday asking police to do more thorough accident investigations, calling the current system "broken."
The pols are pushing the NYPD to have five officers in each precinct to probe serious crashes, instead of relying on its citywide 19-person Accident Investigation Squad, and to create a task force to suggest other safety measures. The NYPD did not respond to a request for comment last night.
