President Barack Obama enlisted Bill Clinton to campaign alongside him in the city last night, tapping the former president's star power to rake in re-election funds from Wall Street and Broadway elite.
The pair attended events that included a dinner with big-money donors, a gala at the Waldorf-Astoria and a star-studded "Barack on Broadway" concert. The events raised more than $3.5 million.
At a reception hosted by billionaire hedge fund manager Marc Lasry, Clinton said Obama must "win this election . . . unambiguously."
The pair's next stop was a rally of about 500 supporters at the Waldorf-Astoria, with prices starting at $2,500. The presidents wrapped up at a $250-a-seat concert fundraiser at the New Amsterdam Theatre.
