Palin's plane pain
Best-selling author Sarah Palin is catching flak for her jet-setting ways, with critics slamming her private plane as contradictory to the “average mom” image she promotes.
The former Alaska governor, who is crisscrossing the country to promote her memoir, “Going Rogue,” reportedly has favored a Gulfstream II over her campaign-style tour bus. Use of the private jet costs more than $4,000 per hour and is being paid for by Palin’s publisher, HarperCollins.
“So what is this news ‘story’?” the ex-vice presidential candidate fired back Tuesday on Facebook. “That I fly on an airplane to complete some of the stops on my book tour when it’s impractical or physically impossible to reach the next event on time by bus.”
Palin continued: “What’s even funnier is that these same media outlets think it’s shocking that we stay in hotels.
“I guess they expected us to pitch a tent alongside the road.”
