Starring in a flop is never easy — something Paul Rudd knows all too well with his recent film, the critically maligned “How Do You Know.”

“It was a drag,” Rudd told us while at the Sundance Film Festival promoting his film “My Idiot Brother.” “Everything you work on, you want to be embraced and seen as successful — commercially, financially and all of that stuff.”

That said, Rudd said he had a "great time" working on the movie — especially with co-stars Jack Nicholson, Reese Witherspoon and Owen Wilson.

"I love that I got to work with all those people," he said.

Perhaps Rudd, 41, will have better box-office luck with the upcoming “Knocked Up” sequel — which he said will have a totally different “storyline and set of circumstances.”
