You're always a fixture on the scene at the New York City Wine and Food Festival. What are some of your fondest memories? I love throwing my brunch every year. It's one of the events that I look forward to all year long!

What are you most looking forward to participating in this year? I always love the TimesTalk event. [This year, it'll take place on Saturday.] It's so interesting to hear what the speakers have to say. [Deen will be interviewed by The New York Times' Kim Severson.]

You're going to be hosting Sunday brunch. New Yorkers are serious about brunch. Is there any element of intimidation there? If y'all love to have a good time and laugh a lot, then I'm sure we're going to get along just fine!

You're known for Southern-style cooking. Do you think NYC influences your cooking at all? Can Southern and Northern-style cooking mix? That's a good question! I like to think they can mix. You know, sometimes I love nothing more than a big ol' slice of New York-style pizza.

Do you visit NYC often? Where do you like to eat when you're here? Oh yes, I'm in NYC a lot for work. When I'm there, I love to eat at Peter Luger Steakhouse.

Do you find that your method of cooking has changed since your diabetes diagnosis? Do you hope to impact your viewers/fans? Yes, totally. I've re-imagined the landscape of my plate. I fill up on a lot more salads and veggies than I used to. And I hope that I can inspire my viewers and fans to take control of their lives, too, every day.
