Pedestrian hit and killed by cab while crossing Soho street: Cops
A Maryland man was struck and killed by a cab early Sunday morning as he tried to dodge traffic on a Soho street, police said.
Dan Fellegara, 29, fell at around 4:30 a.m. as he was trying to cross Sixth Avenue at Watts Street between passing cars, police said, and was "inadvertently" hit by a taxi. A police spokesman said Fellegara, of Baltimore, was crossing against the light.
EMS workers rushed him to New York Downtown Hospital, where he died, officials said. A police spokesman did not know if alcohol was found in Fellegara’s system.
Cops said the cab driver stayed at the scene, and no criminality was suspected. An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
