Pedestrian in critical condition after being pinned under MTA bus
A female pedestrian was in critical condition Thursday after being struck and pinned under an MTA bus on the Upper East Side, officials said.
The unidentified woman was hit just before 7 a.m. as an M86 bus made a right-hand turn onto 92nd Street from First Avenue, according to transit and fire officials. It took more than 30 minutes for firefighters and EMS workers to free her from under the bus.
She was taken to New York Presbyterian Hospital with “serious injuries,” officials said.
An MTA spokesman said the accident is under investigation.
