Report: Brittany Murphy's father not invited to funeral service
Brittany Murphy will be buried Thursday, Christmas Eve, in a California cemetery, but her estranged father wasn’t invited, according to a published report.
Father Angelo Bertolotti, however, told RadarOnline.com that he doesn’t want to attend. “I just want to remember her alive. ... I’ll wait about a month to go out” to the cemetery, he said.
The service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Hollywood Hills — where stars Bette Davis and Lucille Ball are buried — will be “strictly private,” the Web site reported. A larger memorial service will be held next year, sources told People.com.
“She had health problems ... but nothing that I thought would come to this,” Bertolotti said. “She shouldn’t be where she is right now, I can’t understand it.”
Murphy’s husband, British screenwriter Simon Monjack, 39, has insisted that his wife wasn’t stricken by an eating disorder and didn’t overdose on the numerous prescription drugs that were found in their home. Final autopsy results are expected to be released in about six weeks.
The 5-foot-5-inch tall actress who starred in “Clueless” and “8 Mile,” weighed 115 pounds when she was felled by a heart attack Sunday at home, a California coroner told the Daily News.
