Spider-Man is still turing off the dark, whatever

'Spidey' press agents spin reviews' truth

Late Tuesday night, the press agents for "Spider-Man" were hard at work attempting to find quotes to pull from its overwhelmingly negative reviews. In a press release, they quoted USA Today saying "Spider-Man soars," although that quote actually was culled from the sarcastic headline "'Spider-Man' (finally) soars onstage."  They quoted NY1 saying that "It flies," although the review said the show "flies" only in the sense of being "a commercial spectacle."

Ex-prez digs 'Turn Off the Dark'

Even if critics didn't like "Spider-Man," Bill Clinton apparently had a great time. The former president, who attended opening night, even gave a statement about it. "What an amazing and historic night on Broadway," he said. "New York has never seen anything like 'Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark.' And I am very proud of them for not giving up. It was fabulous."
