'The Great Dictator'
Every so often, it’s important to catch up on what boutique DVD company Criterion is coming out with. In addition to releasing the original Russian “Solaris” today (Blu-ray, $39.95), it’s putting out the Charlie Chaplin classic “The Great Dictator” (DVD, $29.95; Blu-ray, $39.95). This edition gets a new hi-def digital restoration, a new commentary from Chaplin experts, and it includes the 2001 documentary “The Tramp and the Dictator” as well as a host of other extras.
