Shake Shack putting DUMBO on the menu
It turns out the biggest recent news for Shake Shack might not be its new fresh-cut fries.
The rapidly expanding haute fast-food burger chain announced on its Facebook page Wednesday that it would be opening another Brooklyn outpost, this time in DUMBO.
“Amazing views of the Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan skyline? We’re in!” the post said.
Danny Meyer’s burger chain is one of the most popular in the city. Long lines are routine at the original Madison Square Park location, and the burger’s proprietary blend of meats and special tangy sauce entices not only New Yorkers but tourists as well. The worldwide chain opened its 25th location in Boca Raton, Fla., in the spring, and London, Turkey and Dubai all boast a Shack, too.
The newest Shack is taking over the space once home to Pete’s Downtown, a prime location because of its proximity to Brooklyn Bridge Park. It’s set to open in mid-2014.
