Sylvester Stallone hints Mel Gibson could join 'Expendables 3' cast
Sylvester Stallone made a sly hint Monday night that Mel Gibson might play the role of the villain in "The Expendables 3."
Stallone tweeted: "Mad Max vs Barney Ross......"
Barney Ross is the name of the character played by Stallone in the ensemble action films. Gibson was the lead character in the "Mad Max" movie franchise.
Among the stars either confirmed or rumored for the"The Expendables 3" cast are Jason Statham, Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Steven Seagal, Nicholas Cage, Wesley Snipes and Milla Jovovich.
Gibson's career has been in dire need of resuscitation since 2006, when he made derogatory comments about Jews to Los Angeles police arresting him on DUI charges. In 2010, his ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva accused him of domestic abuse and recorded him making racist comments.
Gibson has appeared in just three movies released since 2004, according to IMDB.com: "Edge of Darkness," "The Beaver," and "Get the Gringo."
