Tasty Valentine's Day libations
The Valentine's Day holiday calls for romance and luxurious treats, chocolate and treating oneself. Also synonymous with Valentine's Day (for adults): alcoholic beverages.
Try a Valentine's Day-themed cocktail at city restaurants and bars.
The New Dirty at the Arlington Club 1032 Lexington Ave., 212-249-5700. Mixologist Keith Nelson designed this sexy cocktail, made with Belvedere vodka, Lillet, Dolin, a pinch of salt and a flamed orange peel.
The Whiskey-Gram at Fatty Crab 634 Hudson St., 212-352-3598. Eat at the Crab on Valentine's Day (because who wouldn't want to eat watermelon pickle and crispy pork with their lover?) and you'll get a complimentary mini bottle of whiskey and pickle juice. Pickle backs!
Love Potion 79 at the Mermaid Oyster Bar 79 MacDougal St., 212-260-0100. You can enjoy oysters at the Mermaid any day, but only on Valentine's Day do the mixologists concoct this special drink. Made with Bulldog Gin, crème de violette liqueur, lemon juice and Pernod, this potion is likely to make you feel even more in love.
Try your hand at making a drink at home.
Kiss With a Bite
In 2010, Maker's Mark came out with its first new bourbon in 52 years: Maker's 46. The new Maker's is distinguished by bold flavors and aromatics including caramel, vanilla and spice. Sounds romantic to us!

The Pink Sparkle
Chandon Rosé is a perfect Valentine's Day spirit. Not only is it celebratory just by nature of being bubbly, but it's also pink! What could be better?
Mix together: 1/2 oz vodka and 1 oz Ruby Red grapefruit juice and top it with Chandon Rosé sparkling wine
