  • Top 5 top fives: amNewYork makes lists, lists and more lists about the new television season

Top 5 songs we want on "Glee" this season

    5. “Thunder Road” by Bruce Springsteen — The Emmy opening of “Born to Run” with Jimmy Fallon was great. Now let’s hear them tackle our favorite Boss song.
    4. “Rapper’s Delight” by Sugarhill Gang — Will Schuester (Matthew Morrison) loves the old-school hip-hop. After “Ice Ice Baby” and “U Can’t Touch This,” “Rapper’s Delight” is the next logical step.
    3. “Help” by The Beatles — Or how about a full Beatles episode. Or a full Beatles season.
    2. “New York Groove” by Kiss — With the show heading to New York this season, we’d love to hear this Kiss classic. You’ll hear “Empire State of Mind” in the premiere.
    1. “F--- You” by Cee-Lo Green —  They’ll use the all-ages “Forget You” version. But as long as you use this year’s best song.

Top 5 actresses we want to play Ted’s wife on "How I Met Your Mother"

    5. Megan Fox — Anything to stop her from making another bad movie.
    4. Ellen Page — She’s just delightful.
    3. Alexis Bledel — We still miss our weekly dose of the former “Gilmore Girl.”
    2. Mischa Barton — Ted’s wife is the roommate of the character played by Rachel Bilson. Who better than her “O.C.” co-star?
    1. Zooey Deschanel — Her dark, droll demeanor would fit in nicely on the show.

Top 5 reasons why "Lone Star" is one of the best new shows this season

    5. Con men are very, very charismatic.
    4. Great chemistry between father John (David Keith) and his son, Bob (James Wolk).
    3. The pilot was directed by Marc Webb, who directed the wonderful “(500) Days of Summer.”
    2. Wolk is a great young actor. You’ll see.
    1. Jon Voight is in it.

Top 5 $#*! we’d like to hear William Shatner say on "$#*! My Dad Says"

    5. “Would. You like. To. Hear. Me sing?”
    4. “Have you met your Uncle Spock?”
    3. “Did you know you could save up to half off on hotels on Priceline.com?”
    2. “Denny Crane”
    1. “Khaaaaaaannnnn”

Top 5 shows we want remade, like "Hawaii Five-O"

    5. “CHiPs” — “The Good Guys” kind of has the odd-couple cop dynamic, but it doesn’t have motorcycles. We want motorcycles.
    4. “Golden Girls” — Put the four women from “Sex and the City” in pants suits and long vests and you’ve got your new sitcom. Betty White could even stop by as crazy Aunt Rose.
    3. “The Muppet Show” — We know Jason Segel is working on a new “Muppet” movie, but it would be nicer to get it in a weekly dose.
    2. “Quincy, M.E.” — Formerly played by Jack Klugman, the strong-willed medical examiner is exactly the kind of character viewers flock to. Think “House,” but with crime.
    1. “Lou Grant” — Television needs a good journalism show, and this show starring Ed Asner was the best. Update it with a modern newsroom, but keep the intelligence and wit.
