Tribeca Film Festival celeb report: Part II
Hey, Billy: When you’re famous, fans ask for your autograph
We checked out Sunday night’s “Last Play at Shea” after-party at 675 Bar, where we shot the breeze with a (very) casually dressed Billy Joel. The music man told us his favorite Shea moment was when the team won the World Series in 1986 and he sang the national anthem.
A negative Yankee Stadium memory? “I got seats right above the dugout, but fans kept coming up to me and asking for my autograph. I had to get the hell out of there.” Sad story, Billy. Also in the house was Joel’s ex-wife, Christie Brinkley, looking lovely in all black, and daughter, Alexa Ray.
Amanda Seyfried not into mingling
We also spotted a maturely made-up Amanda Seyfried at the post-party of her new sap-fest, er, flick, “Letters to Juliet,” at La Bottega at the Maritime Hotel. While she sat at a table most of the time, her BF, Dominic Cooper, mingled a bit.
We got a kick out of the fact that at La Bottega, photogs were going crazy snapping a guy who they thought was funnyman Jonah Hill (it wasn’t). Whether he was an impostor or simply a dude who looks like another dude, we have no idea.
