Two-night special featuring up-and-coming filmmaking talents
"VH1 Best Week Ever" star Sherrod Small and former "Saturday Night Live" staff writer Hannibal Buress will bring their quipster flair to the hosting jobs at the 8th Annual Short Cuts Film Festival semi-finals screenings on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Founded by actor and comedian Will Sylvince, the festival showcases the works of fledgling filmmakers in the genres of comedy, drama, horror and sci-fi.
"There is such great talent out there, but there is a greater need of a platform for these artists to display their work," Sylvince said in a statement.
The free semi-finals screening will take place at the School of Visual Arts Theatre in collaboration with NBC Universal Diversity Initiative. The finalists will be showcased on October 23 in Los Angeles.
