Police are trying to identify a man they found yesterday morning in Upper Manhattan tied up in the trunk of a BMW and suffering from head injuries, reportedly including a severed ear, authorities said.

Officers found the man after responding to a hit-and-run at Dyckman Street and 10th Avenue, where the dark blue BMW slid into a livery cab around 9 a.m.

The unidentified driver fled and the cabbie called 911, police said. The man found in the trunk, who was hospitalized and in stable condition, had no ID on him and was still unidentified as of last night.
