Will Michael Strahan score 'Live with Kelly!' gig?

According to a new tabloid report, former Giants star Michael Strahan is the front-runner to banter alongside Kelly Ripa as her 'Live with Kelly!' co-host.
According to HollywoodLife.com, a source close to the production of the morning stalwart revealed that the former NFL star is at the top of Kelly's list, co-hosting for a ninth time Monday.
"All bets are on Michael Strahan," the source said. "He's funny, does well on camera and gets along really fabulously with Kelly. Michael is the top name that is seriously being thrown around right now."
The source went on to tell the site that crooner Josh Groban has said that he "really wants the gig" and although everyone loves him on-set, show execs aren't sure if he's the best bet.
As for the obvious assumption that the role will go to Kelly's hubby and occasional co-host Mark Consuelos: "No one wants to see such a perfect couple every morning," the source said. "They're disgustingly perfect. Great together but it's not the direction the show wants to head."
Meanwhile, the source goes on to say that NY 1 anchor Pat Kiernan fell "flat" and Anderson Cooper's new daytime talk show has him out of the running.
Honestly, we'd rather the gig go to the super-smooth Strahan than to the ever-grating and slightly manic "America's Got Talent" judge Howie Mandel, who's also rumored to be close to landing the job.
