As questions continued to surround the cause of British pop star Amy Winehouse’s death Monday, her bereft father broke down at the makeshift memorial erected by fans outside her London apartment, thanking them for their support.

“Amy was all about love, and it’s incredibly touching to see all these tributes reflecting that,” Mitch Winehouse said. “I really don’t know what we’ll do without her. We are lost. I can’t tell you what this means to us. It really is making things easier.”

Winehouse’s cause of death may remain unknown for several weeks after an autopsy proved inconclusive, London police said Monday.

Winehouse spokesman Chris Goodman said that a private funeral will be held Tuesday, without offering a time or location.

Winehouse, 27, was found dead in her London apartment Saturday. Speculation has swirled that the “Rehab” singer — who publicly battled drug and alcohol addictions — died of an overdose.
