World population to top 7 billion on Halloween
Monday, somewhere in northern India, the world's 7 billionth person will be born. Of course, that’s an estimate from the United Nations, calculated to raise awareness of the breathtaking speed of population growth, and the toll that’s taking on the planet. It also shows how poorer nations like India, with rapid birthrates, are increasingly being challenged to provide for all.
