Yankees' Robinson Cano joins Jay-Z's Roc Nation Sports
Robinson Cano was at Victoria’s Secret in SoHo Tuesday as reporters asked him about partnering with Jay-Z’s new sports representation agency.
No, this isn’t a late April Fools’ Day story.
Even when pressed, the Yankees second baseman wouldn’t say much about the big news while promoting Victoria’s Secret Pink’s new MLB-themed apparel, other than that he is “excited” to be working with the hip-hop mogul.
Cano, a free agent after the season, becomes the first client of Jay-Z sports management company Roc Nation Sports, which is partnered with mega-agency CAA Sports. He formerly was represented by Scott Boras.
“I am confident that the pairing of Roc Nation Sports and CAA Sports will be essential in helping me accomplish my short- and long-term goals,” Cano said in a statement.
