Microsoft unveils Windows 8, new tablet
Microsoft launched its new Windows 8 operating system and Surface tablet on Thursday in a bid to revive interest in its flagship product and regain ground lost to Apple and Google in mobile computing.

Ex-con jailed for fatal shooting of Nassau cop
Ex-convict Darrell Fuller, 33, was jailed without bail on Thursday for Tuesday's fatal shooting of Nassau County Police Officer Arthur Lopez and carjack victim Raymond Facey, 58, of Brooklyn.
