Quinn and de Blasio earn endorsements for campaigns
City Council Speaker Christine Quinn and Public Advocate Bill de Blasio picked up key endorsements for their mayoral campaigns Thursday.

Paul McCartney is coming to Brooklyn
Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz was in a swoon Thursday at the news that Paul McCartney would be playing Barclays Center June 8 and 10, proclaiming "Let it be" known that the lawn above the (Atlantic Ave.) subway station is "Strawberry Fields!" and Atlantic Avenue will hereby be known as "Abbey Road!"

City sees record population, Brooklyn had largest growth: Census
There's a record number of people calling the Big Apple home, and Brooklyn is leading the way when it comes to new residents, according to statistics released on Thursday.
The population for the city reached 8,336,697 last year, a 161,564 increase from 2010, according to census data released by the mayor.
