Children grow up fast, but one Dutch filmmaker's daughter aged 12 years in less than three minutes.
Frans Hofmeester created a time-lapse video of his daughter, Lotte, chronicling her growth from a newborn to age 12.
Hofmeester filmed his daughter weekly until she was 12, then edited the clips down to the two-and-a-half minute video called "Portrait of Lotte."
The highly detailed footage shows Lotte's loss of front teeth, her hair growth and other physical developments, and can almost feel the changes in mood and personality over the years.
In just two weeks the video has already racked up more than 4.7 million, and viewers around the world have become enamored with the footage.
"Just brilliant. Put a big smile on my face," user Will G. commented on the video. "I love the way she is talking all the way through. Reminds me of my 5 yr old. She never stops."
Hofmeester wrote last week that he is "totally overwhelmed" by the number of views.
He uploaded a similar video of his son, Vince, from birth to age 9 the same week, and both videos end with a promise from Hofmeester: "to be continued."
