Arena Football League downsizes league offices
Today is the last day of work for most of the staffers in the New York and Chicago offices of the Arena Football League. All but five people in each office were let go last week, in the wake of the league's decision to erase the 2009 season.
The five in New York, I am told, include acting commish Ed Policy, two members of the legal department and two junior staffers. About 20 employees were let go overall.
My condolences to the AFLers (including Dragons staffers, of course) who have been keeping me informed during this difficult month and good luck for a better '09.
