At the end of the day, Giants safety Antrel Rolle had a point in a Tuesday radio rant aimed at television analysts who critique players without necessarily knowing what they are talking about.

Defensive backfield coverage is notoriously difficult to make assumptions about without knowing the plan, and without using the name of NBC’s Cris Collinsworth, Rolle called him on it publicly.

There is pressure on former jocks in TV booths to sound authoritative in real time, but that often leads to mistakes – errors that are taken as gospel by viewers and passed along to players by friends and relatives.

Let’s be careful out there, people.
