  • Cablevision intends to offer Tennis Channel in time for Open

Here is the latest in the very public spat between Cablevision and Tennis Channel about the latter's lack of availability on the former with the U.S. Open at hand:

Cablevision announced it has decided to exercise its right to offer the channel (in SD and HD) as part of its iO Sports Pak through an existing deal between Tennis Channel and the National Cable Television Cooperative, of which Cablevision is a member.

Tennis Channel now is contractually obligated to make its signal available to Cablevision, according to Cablevision, which owns Newsday.

    Awaiting a retort from TC . . .

(UPDATE: Tennis Channel pondering legal options. You really don't want to know the details, but I'll give them to you later anyway.)
