Cornell: 'Big Red, Big Time'
It's not often that crusty old sportswriters get to act like a real fans, but today was one of those days, and it was most enjoyable.
It's going to be even more fun watching 20,000 Cornell fans find their ways into the Carrier Dome for the regional semifinals against Kentucky next week.
But first things first:
I understand CBS' challenges in switching around in the first round, but after showing us the first 37 minutes or so of Cornell-Temple, the network should have found a way to take the New York audience back for the final seconds of a No. 12 seed securing an upset, not to mention the first NCAA victory in school history.
Only the 3 percent of Americans in "constant" markets for the game - on channels in Syracuse, Elmira and Philadelphia - saw the ending on TV.
I watched it on March Madness on Demand.
