David Wright is very accessible, but not to 'Mike'd Up'

Had flashbacks to my Giants beat days today as Mike Francesa discussed the Mets' David Wright and Ryan Church boycotting his show (and declining even to meet with him off the air) because of assorted comments about them last season.
At various points Francesa (and former partner Chris Russo) alienated Michael Strahan, Jeremy Shockey and Tiki Barber, then the team's most prominent players.
There have been many others over the years, including UConn coach Jim Calhoun, who now is friendly with Francesa and appeared on the show shortly after Mike made his comments about Church and Wright.
Francesa on Church: "I dont really care if Church comes on the show now or forever. Church is going to be out of New York long before Im going to worry about whether he comes on my show or not. Hes not a big deal in any way."
Francesa on Wright: "I think hes being very immature because hes had a straight ascendancy and he doesnt want any criticism . . . He needs to grow up."
Speaking of Giants beat flashbacks, when I read this USA Today piece about the latest strange adventures of Dhani Jones, I was reminded of how painful it often was to solicit coherent comments at his locker.
Sigh.
