Don Ohlmeyer breaks down 'Monday Night Football' trio
In his latest very long column on ESPN.com, newly installed ombudsman Don Ohlmeyer breaks down the new booth trio on "Monday Night Football."
ESPN wanted someone with a TV background in the role after two newspaper people, and Ohlmeyer illustrates the wisdom of that move by offering a veteran television insider's take on the MNF production.
(Particularly interesting: ESPN can use technical tricks to address the fact Ron Jaworski and Jon Gruden sound too similar to many viewers.)
So far Ohlmeyer is no Le Anne Schreiber, but he does bring a new perspective to the job.
