ESPN Deportes, A-Rod, Tiger Woods, St. John's
My newspaper column includes items on the role ESPN Deportes played in ESPN's coverage of Alex Rodriguez, on listening on the radio to Tiger Woods play golf and on the fact St. John's - not the Mets - will play the first game at Citi Field.
I continue to receive emails from Mets fans who have toured Citi Field and provided detailed reports on obstructed views from display boards, staircase railings and the like. Sounds like some of these things can be tweaked and some will be issues for the next 40 or 50 years. I need to get out there and check out that place myself.
Maybe I'll take the family to the St. John's game.
Can't beat the $5 cost, and unlike the seats at that price at Yankee Stadium, you won't have a sports bar blocking your view.
Speaking of St. John's, Ron Darling, the subject of the main item in my newspaper column, pitched for Yale against the (then) Redmen in 1981 in one of the most famous college baseball games ever.
