ESPN ends ban on New York Post staffers
ESPN lifted its ban Friday on New York Post sportswriters appearing on its platforms, nine days after imposing the sanction to retaliate against the paper for using pictures from an illicitly obtained video of reporter Erin Andrews in a hotel room.
The network's statement:
New York Post sports writers have been told they are welcome to return to ESPN television and radio programs, effective immediately. We stated at the outset that they had nothing to do with the way Erin was treated. We just felt strongly that in this unique circumstance, we were compelled to make our point known in the strongest possible manner. As a result, we believe our perspective is widely understood and nothing is furthered by continuing down our recent path.
