ESPN's Knicks personalities on call for LeBron James' big loss
Current Knicks play-by-play man Mike Breen, former Knicks coach Jeff Van Gundy and former Knicks point guard Mark Jackson did a fine job chronicling and capturing the shocking demise of the Cavaliers and future Knicks forward LeBron James on ESPN Thursday.
(UPDATE: The game did a 7.1 overnight rating, the best for an NBA playoff game in ESPN history.)
The entire spectacle was excellent theater, and a fine warmup act for this week's really big game in Boston - Flyers-Bruins Game 7 tonight.
Was pleased to see the late SportsCenter lead with Jamal Mashburn analyzing the highlights of Cavs-Celtics.
I have known Mashburn since he was 15 and already dominating at Cardinal Hayes High in the Bronx. He has blossomed into a calm, reasoned voice for the Worldwide Leader.
Speaking of athletes I have known since they were 15, mazel tov to Kenny Anderson for earning his college degree this weekend.
Here is another son of Queens, the Times' George Vecsey, on that subject.
