Finals MVP: Artest's psychiatrist
What did I think of Game 7?
I thought it was entertaining theater, despite the teams' inability to make shots from the field and the fact the fourth quarter was a free-throw shooting contest.
(Sorry, basketball fans, but there is no getting around the fact your sport's fatal flaw is the huge role fouls and free throws play in the game - and the complete randomness of how fouls are called.)
Mike Breen, Jeff Van Gundy and Mark Jackson were sharp, as usual, but the highlight of the telecast, of course, was Ron Artest thanking his psychiatrist on national television.
As someone who used to live a few blocks from Queensbridge and who used to cover St. John's, Artest's pivotal three-pointer got me to thinking this:
Was that the biggest NBA shot ever made by a former St. John's player?
