Many celebrities have said they would like Brad Pitt to play them in a movie of their lives – from Roger Federer to Simon Cowell to U2’s The Edge and beyond.

But one guy who has been so honored, Athletics general manager Billy Beane, has taken a low-key approach to the fact Pitt portrays him in “Moneyball,’’ limiting interviews about the new movie version of the book, which opens next Friday.

Beane has indicated, though, he has no problem with Pitt assuming his identity.

Could be worse.
