Neil Best leaves no stone unturned in the world of sports media.
Former Isles p.r. man tells (almost) all in new blog
Friday's newspaper column has an expanded Best's Bets that covers the new blog by former Islanders p.r. poobah Chris Botta, a new DVD set starring former Yankees first baseman Chris Chambliss and a Shea Stadium documentary Saturday night that includes a lot of stuff about the baseball team that still plays there . . . and might still be playing there next week.
Botta promised to bluntly honest, even if it means opposing his old pal, Garth Snow, the Isles' GM.
"If I say he made a bad move hes not going to be thrilled with me, but Ive got a job to do and I take it seriously," he said. "It sounds like an ESPN2 reality show: Guy who used to be the p.r. person for the team gets to cover the team and say things the way he would like to say them."
The Giants must hope Hanlon doesn't get any ideas from this.
Botta is a pioneer in the sports blogosphere, having invented the Islanders' Blog Box.
Read his stuff, but only after you read Logan's.
