Fox adds NFL soundtrack
Fox Sports has had some fine ideas this football season, from adding officiating guru Mike Pereira to its telecasts to keeping cameras on last Sunday to capture video of the Metrodome collapsing.
On the flip side there is this: The network is experimenting with adding music to games, not heading into breaks but during the coverage itself.
It began (mostly during replays) with the Seahawks-49ers game last week and continues with Cardinals-Panthers Sunday.
The mind reels at the possibilities, from the obvious (“Who Let the Dogs Out?’’ for Michael Vick or “Eli’s Coming’’ for Eli Manning) to the esoteric (Tim Wilson’s “I Should’ve Married My Father-in-Law’’ for Chris Snee).
