Giants, Pokes had limited ad interruptions, for a while
One more thing about that Giants game Sunday, from a TV perspective:
The pacing of it was bizarre, because there was not a TV timeout until 7:19 remained in the second quarter, making it seem more like a high school game than a showcase late afternoon NFL contest on national TV.
The first quarter lasted less than a half hour.
The reason? Most of the country was watching the Saints beat the Redskins in OT, so Fox was waiting for the rest of the audience to join those in the New York and Dallas areas before it started rolling out commercials.
Naturally, that meant more TV timeouts than usual from the middle of the second quarter on to catch up, and a final game time of 3:12.
