Giants scheduled for NFL Network tilt on Thanksgiving

The Giants will play at the Broncos Thanksgiving night on the NFL Network in their first visit to Denver since Sept. 10, 2001.

That game doubtless saved lives, as some Giants fans who had stayed up that Monday night showed up later than usual for work at the World Trade Center Tuesday.

I drove home from Denver with three fellow writers, as there were no flights available.

The NFL announced the Giants' rare Thanksgiving appearance - their first since 1992 and third since 1938 - along with the opening week prime time schedule.

Here it is, including an opening Monday night AFL theme in honor of the 50th season since those renegades began play.

Sunday, Sept. 13

Bears at Packers, 8:30 p.m., NBC
